Love Stereo @ The Wheatsheaf

Love Stereo @ The Wheatsheaf

It’s been a rough few months for Add-Delay’s little corner of the music scene, with a number of fine bands calling it a day or entering extended hibernation. To bring some light, Love Stereo are returning with their first show in a year — playing this Friday, April 17 at The Wheatsheaf.

Add-Delay will be presenting the dream poppers, supported by indie pop stalwarts The Keepsakes. The Keepsakes wear their hearts on their sleeves and sing songs that mean alot to them but not probably not all that much to anyone else, especially those fond of taking themself just a tad too seriously. They hope you can smile along to their boppy tunes and stop thinking so much, even if it is for three simple minutes.

Music will start with Love Stereo at 9:15pm, so be sure to get there early. Entry is free, which will allow more beer money to spend on The Wheatsheaf’s wonderful range of boutique brews.

To Here Knows When

I don’t think I need to tell anyone here about: 1) the second coming known as the reunion of My Bloody Valentine, and 2) the futility that is trying to capture the loudest music sound known to man on a mobile phone video.

Thank God Kevin Shields for Japanese TV then, who give us this masterpiece from the recent Fuji Rock Festival.

Coopers Alive SA LIve Music Showcase

On Friday July 25, Coopers Alive will be presenting 3 of our favourite Add-Delay bands as part of the SA Live Music Showcase. Mr. Wednesday, Lumonics and BrotherSister will be demonstrating the depth of fantastic music here in Adelaide, at the Jade Monkey from 8pm

The ‘Coopers Alive’ SA Live Music Showcase is a new initiative that aims to encourage local artists to actively participate in planning, promoting and evaluating their live performances, as well as providing an entertaining and creative showcase for all music-lovers to enjoy.

Taking the opportunity, BrotherSister will be using the night to launch their new website/exhibition space, and will be further fleshing out their performance with additional musicians and projected visuals created for the night.

Welcome to Add-Delay

Welcome to Add-Delay, a new blog promoting shoegaze, dream pop, noise pop and post rock music from around the world, Australia, and, in particular, the local Adelaide scene.

Over the next few days and weeks will be adding plenty to read – interviews with Lumonics and Aviator Lane, reviews of some recent releases and gigs, and the introduction of our Pedal Porn section – profiling and demonstrating a variety of effects pedals.

Please take the time to check out the artists involved with Add-Delay: BrotherSister, Horse & Cart, Love Stereo, Lumonics, Mr. Wednesday and come along to any of the upcoming gigs.

As with any new site, there’s sure to be a few glitches here and there, so if you do come across something strange, let us know in the comments and we’ll get the monkeys on to it. Likewise, if you have any feedback, good or constructive, let us know so we can make sure that Add-Delay is the best resource for fantastic music, and for Adelaide.
